Nifty Mapworks is the work of Brian Long, a commercial 3D artist and map designer based in Colorado. Each map starts with real USGS satellite elevation data and gets rebuilt by hand - lighting, shadows, trails, and terrain carefully composed to look and feel like the real thing.

Brian's background is in CGI and motion design for brands, film, and defense - the same eye for detail and dimensional accuracy that goes into high-end commercial work goes into every map print.
